Our Story
One of us grew up on Daadi’s marsala chai. The other was inspired by a love of boba. And one day we thought -why hasn’t anyone combined them? So we did. Our iconic moon bear (native to Pakistan) logo honours our Pakistani roots and the spirit behind what we create - desi boba. A fusion of South Asian nostalgia and Southeast Asian bubble tea culture.
We’re on a mission to craft unforgettable drinks using premium ingredients, bold flavours, and a little bit of curiosity. Because great ideas often start with a simple question: what happens when two cultures meet in a cup?
Bubble Chai Wala sets itself apart with the boba pearls. Our tapioca balls made fresh in-house, not poured from a bag. Each batch is mixed, kneaded and rolled right in front of you using our small countertop machine. The result? Boba that’s softer, more delicate and far more flavoursome than the mass-produced, dried pearls most shops simply boil.
So what exactly is boba?
Boba pearls are made using tapioca flour, water and a little sugar. Tapioca flour comes from the cassava root and is naturally gluten-free, giving the pearls their signature chewy texture. But great boba deserves great flavour.
That’s why we also make our own sugar syrup using 4 types of locally produced sugar, creating a richer more layered sweetness. Our signature desi-inspired flavours are all made in house using fresh milk, bringing together nostalgic South Asian chai notes with the playful texture of bubble tea.
We believe menus don’t need to be complicated to be exciting. So we keep things simple, focusing on chai blends and classic flavours with a modern twist.
Our philosophy is simple: if it’s not fresh, it’s not worthy of your chai time.
